Install Parallels Pro Control Panel into Virtuozzo Containers.

Steps:

Install the Containers and then install Parallels Pro CP.

Download the respective Parallels Pro Virtuozzo Container Template.

For CentOS 5 i386:

http://download.pro.parallels.com/ensim/apt/ensim/EPL/10.3.4/ez/ppcpl10-centos-5-x86-ez-4.0.0-3.parallels.noarch.rpm

Before installing Parallels Pro CP from Parallels Virtuozzo Containers Templates, prepare your Virtuozzo Containers according to the requirements below.

Important: before proceeding with the Containers installation, make sure that the hostname –i command doesn’t return 127.0.0.1 IP.

Before creating the Containers and installing Parallels Pro CP, log in as root to your Hardware Node. Open the /etc/sysconfig/vz file and change the value of the VZPRIVRANGE to “1 N” where N is max ID of Container you will be using, for example:

VZPRIVRANGE=”1 10000”

Refer to the log file /var/log/ensim/installer..-.log for errors during the installation.

Obtaining the Installer Script

You can obtain the installer script from the FTP server or from the download page

http://download.pro.parallels.com/ensim/apt/ensim/EPL/10.3.4/ensim-installer.py

Before you start the installation make sure that if you select any option other than the Everything option, then refer the List of RPMs to verify the RPMs required on the Parallels Pro Control Panel server.

Attended Installation

python ensim-installer.py -n [admin_username] -p [admin_passwd] -m [admin_email]
[installation_files_source] [os_update_repository]

Examples

In the following example, the command installs Parallels Pro Control Panel on RHEL by obtaining the necessary Parallels Pro Control Panel files from Parallels FTP server and the operating system RPMs, updates RPM and extras RPM from RHN.

python ensim-installer.py -n admin -p passwd -m example1@example.com

Note:

Parallels Pro Control Panel can also be installed on a Virtuozzo server. The Virtuozzo server allows you to create multiple, isolated virtual environments on a single physical server.

Parallels Pro Control Panel (formerly known as Ensim Pro) Requirements.

Operating Systems supported in Parallels Pro Control Panel for Linux v10.3.1:

Supported Linux Versions:

* Fedora Core 4 (32 bits)
* Fedora Core 6( 32 and 64 bits)
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4ES (32 and 64 bits)
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 5ES (32 and 64 bits)
* CentOS 4.4 (32 and 64 bits)
* CentOS 5.0 (32 and 64 bits)

Note: FC 4 operating system is supported only with 32-bit architecture, and all other operating systems are supported with both 32-bit and 64-bit architecture.

Disk space At least 40 GB.

Disk partition /boot: At least 75 MB

License Control Panel. You need a valid license key before you can install Parallels Pro.

Other requirements root user access.

spamassassin-3 or later version. You must install the RPM spamassassin-3 or later on the server before you install Parallels Pro Control Panel.

Important: Parallels Pro Control Panel is compatible with yum version 2.4 or later.

Verify that you have disabled SELinux (if installed).

How to reset SQL “sa” password and Integrate with Plesk Control panel

The following steps will guide you to reset the SQL admin password and how to integrate it with Plesk control panel for hosting purpose.

Step 1: Login to the Windows server through RDP.

Step 2: Open CMD ( Start -> Run -> type: cmd then Enter)

Step 3: cd “c:\Program files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn”

Step 4: Now execute the following command.

osql -E -Q “EXEC sp_password @new=’newpassword’, @loginame = ’sa’”

Now integrate SQL server with Plesk control panel.

Step 1: Login to Plesk control panel using the admin login.

Step 2: Select “Server >> Databases >> Add new database”.

Step 3: Create new MSSQL database server using SQL admin (known as “sa”) login details.

Installing Parallels Plesk Panel on Linux and FreeBSD

To install Parallels Plesk Panel software on a server

1. Download the Parallels Products Installer utility that suits your operating system from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/plesk9/ and save it on your server’s hard drive.

2. Change your working directory to the directory where the Parallels Products Installer utility resides, for example:

# cd /root/plesk

3. Set the execution permission for Parallels Products Installer:

# chmod +x parallels_products_installer_file_name

4. Run the Parallels Products Installer:

# ./parallels_products_installer_file_name

5. Read installation notes displayed on the screen and type ‘n’ to proceed to the next screen. Press ENTER.

Log in to the Parallels Plesk Panel running on your host at https://machine.domain.name:8443/ or https://IP-address:8443/. Use the username ‘admin’ and password ’setup’ (both are case sensitive). For security reasons, change the password upon initial login.
